After completing the Microsoft Power Up Program which is a three-month, free training program that helps non-technical professionals start a career in low-code application development using Microsoft Power Platform I knew that the next step was to take the PL-900 exam, which I passed.
I found it difficult to find blogs from people who had passed the PL-900 exam, so I want to share my experience studying for the exam in the hope that it will help others.
Here's what I did:
Since I had already covered most of the content in the Microsoft Power Up Program, I was able to prepare for the PL-900 exam in just two weeks using only free resources.
Resources I used:
Microsoft Power Platform Fundamentals learning path.
freeCodeCamp's Microsoft Power Platform Fundamentals (PL-900) — Full Course Pass the Exam!
Practise Tests:
The ones I took were:
Taking practice tests was the most helpful part of my exam preparation because they covered topics that were not covered in the study resources. This gave me a good overview of the types of questions that would be asked on the exam.
I failed the first attempt, reviewed each question and made notes in a Notion template, regardless of whether I got the question right or wrong. I then repeated the practice tests until I scored above 90%. This gave me the confidence that I was ready for the exam.
The Exam Experience:
The exam had 39 questions and 40 minutes to complete so I knew it was a race against time.
The practice test questions were invaluable in helping me to learn the concepts and how to apply them to real-world business scenarios, as they were structured the same way as the exam questions.
Having fundamental hands-on experience in the Power Platform will also give you a significant advantage.
I hope this helps!
